Italy Vacation Packages and Guided Tours

Built Around You

Rome before the queues, a vineyard lunch in Chianti, and the Amalfi Coast road with someone else driving. Our Italy vacation packages are planned one traveler at a time, at the pace you actually want to travel.

A Journey to Italy

Italy is the country most people plan badly, because there's too much of it and it all sounds essential. Three cities in five days is the classic mistake and the reason so many first trips are remembered as exhausting rather than extraordinary.

Done properly, it's the easiest country in Europe to love. Rome for the ancient world, Florence for the Renaissance, Venice for a city that shouldn't exist. Then the parts people go back for: Tuscan hill towns, the Amalfi coastline, Sicily's Greek temples, and lunches that run until four.

Where to Go in Italy

  • Rome — The Colosseum and Forum, the Vatican Museums, the Pantheon, and the Borghese Gallery, which limits numbers and books out weeks ahead.
  • Florence — The Uffizi, the Accademia, and Brunelleschi's dome. Small enough to walk, dense enough to need three days.
  • Venice — St Mark's, the Doge's Palace, and the back canals where the city belongs to whoever's still there in the evening.
  • Milan — The Duomo, the design district, and The Last Supper, which needs booking months in advance.
  • Turin and Genoa — The two great Italian cities Americans skip, and the better for it.
  • Tuscany — Siena, San Gimignano, the Val d'Orcia, and the Chianti and Brunello vineyards between them.
  • The Amalfi Coast — Positano, Ravello and Capri. Beautiful, vertical, and far easier with a driver than a rental car.
  • Sicily — Taormina, Etna, the Valley of the Temples, and Palermo's markets. A trip in its own right.
  • Cinque Terre — Five cliffside villages linked by coastal walking trails, on the Ligurian coast. Best visited by train and boat, and worth an overnight rather than the usual day trip.
  • Lake Como — Villa gardens, lakeside towns like Bellagio and Varenna, and the Alps behind them. An easy, elegant add-on to Milan.
  • Pompeii & Vesuvius — The Roman city frozen by the AD 79 eruption, an easy day from Naples or the Amalfi Coast, and best seen with a guide who can bring it back to life.
  • Matera — Ancient cave dwellings carved into a ravine in the south, now boutique hotels and one of Italy's most atmospheric overnight stays.

Tuscany Wine Tours & Italian Food Journeys

Tuscany does wine tourism better than anywhere in Italy, and the difference between a good day and a coach tour is entirely about access.

Our Tuscany wine tours are private Chianti estates that don't take walk-ins, Brunello producers in Montalcino, and long lunches at the winery rather than a tasting counter. Italy food and wine tours can run wider: pasta-making in Bologna, truffles in Piedmont in autumn, a market walk and cooking class in Rome, or balsamic and Parmigiano producers around Modena.

When to Visit Italy

  • April–June — The best window. Warm, green, everything open, and the crowds still manageable.
  • July–August — Hot and busy. August in particular sees Italians leave the cities and many small businesses close around Ferragosto.
  • September–October — The other best window, and the best of all for food: harvest in Tuscany, truffles in Piedmont, and warm sea into early October.
  • November–March — Cities at their quietest, museums without queues, and Christmas markets from late November through early January.

Luxury Italy Tours With Private Local Guides

At the Vatican, a licensed guide is the difference between three hours of queuing and a morning you'll remember.

Our luxury Italy tours run with private local guides — art historians in Florence, archaeologists in Rome, and drivers who know the Amalfi Coast road well enough to make it a pleasure. They also handle the timed entries that catch most travelers out: the Borghese, the Accademia, the Last Supper, and the Vatican's early-access mornings. You travel privately, on your own schedule.

Private Italy Tours & Custom Itineraries

Every itinerary starts empty. Tell us how long you have, which parts of Italy matter to you, and how fast you want to move.

Private Italy tours handle the logistics that quietly ruin trips: ZTL driving restrictions in historic centres, high-speed rail seats between cities, museum reservations that open on fixed dates, and drivers on the Amalfi Coast where parking barely exists. Italy travel packages can run five days or three weeks, one region properly or north to south.

Italy Honeymoon Packages

Italy is the most-requested honeymoon in Europe, and there's a reason it keeps earning it.

An Amalfi Coast honeymoon is the classic cliffside terrace in Positano or Ravello, a private boat to Capri, dinner above the water. A Tuscany honeymoon is the quieter alternative: a villa or a converted farmhouse in the Val d'Orcia, a vineyard lunch, and no schedule at all. Most Italy honeymoon packages we plan combine the two, with a few nights in Rome or Florence at either end.

Italy Destination Weddings

Italy is the most popular destination-wedding country in Europe, and the one with the most paperwork.

Our Italy wedding packages cover the venue, the ceremony, and every part of the travel. Italy wedding venues range from Amalfi Coast cliffside hotels and Tuscan villas to Lake Como estates, Venetian palazzos, and Sicilian masserie. An Amalfi Coast wedding and a Tuscany destination wedding are entirely different weekends, and we'll be straight with you about which suits your guest list. Start twelve to eighteen months ahead.

Italy Family Vacations

Italy is exceptionally easy with children. Restaurants welcome them, the food is universally acceptable, and gelato solves most afternoons.

Our Italy family tours favour fewer bases and shorter guided visits — a gladiator-focused Colosseum tour rather than a full Forum walk, a pizza-making class in Naples, a Tuscan agriturismo with a pool between city days. We keep travel legs short and build in the downtime that makes the rest of the trip work.

Italy Christmas Markets

Italy's Christmas markets are underrated, largely because Germany and Austria get the attention.

The best are in Alto Adige — Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, and Trento — Alpine towns with an Austrian accent and mulled wine in the squares. Rome's Christmas market in Piazza Navona and Florence's in Santa Croce are easy add-ons to a winter city trip. The season runs from late November into early January, and the cities are at their quietest all year.

Italy Tours From the USA

Direct flights run to Rome, Milan, Venice and Naples from New York, Newark, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles — around eight to nine hours from the East Coast.

US passport holders travel visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180 days under Schengen rules. We plan Italy tours from USA departures end to end, with 24/7 support in your time zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Italy vacation package cost?

It depends on season, regions, and hotel category. May, June and September carry the highest rates, and Amalfi Coast and Lake Como properties price well above the rest of the country. We cost each itinerary individually.

How many days do you need in Italy?

Seven to ten days covers two cities and one region comfortably. Five days is enough for Rome plus a day trip. Two weeks lets you add Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast or Sicily without rushing between them.

What is the best time to visit Italy?

April to June and September to October. Warm weather, everything open, and far fewer people than midsummer. September and October are best for food and wine.

Where are the best wedding venues in Italy?

It depends on the guest list and the look. The Amalfi Coast suits smaller cliffside ceremonies, Tuscany suits villa weekends, Lake Como suits formal celebrations, and Sicily suits larger groups at lower cost.

Can I customize an Italy tour?

Yes. Every itinerary we build is private and customized. The tours listed here are starting points, not fixed departures.
